INTRODUCTION

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 has been passed by the Parliament which is in culmination of the collective efforts of the Government and the industry over the past five years. The Central Government will notify the date on which the Act will come into force and different dates may be notified for different provisions. Therefore, the Act will be enforced in a phase-wise manner.
