E-Mobility : A sustainable automotive sector

Wednesday, December 04, 2019

SESSION: 06:00 PM - 07:00 PM (IST)

INTRODUCTION

As nations around the globe are joining forces to reduce the impact of climate change, India has pledged to reduce its greenhouse emissions by 33- 35 percent. In India, the transport sector alone contributes to 10% of the total national greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions. The Government of India (“GOI”) has made the transition to battery operated electric vehicles (“EV”) one of its foremost policy objectives. Pursuant to this, GOI has launched various policies initiatives and schemes to provide an impetus to e-mobility in India. The goal is to to generate consumer interest and also attract investments to promote domestic manufacturing. Efforts have also been made to build consumer confidence in e-mobility by promoting the creation of supporting infrastructure.

We cordially invite you to engage in a dialogue on issues related to e-mobility and related areas (such as infrastructure, battery charging, GOI incentives etc) along with providing an international comparison. Please join us in our endeavor to anticipate and prepare for a sustainable automotive future!
