We consider research to be the cornerstone of the development of the firm's practice areas and it is our dedicated research efforts that have been instrumental in creating a niche for the firm in the legal field. The areas of research span all our practice areas and enable us to participate in public policy initiatives in varied fields of law reform. It is estimated that each and every member of our firm spends about 30% of his/her time in conducting research studies.

It is to pursue this dedicated approach to research that the Nishith Desai Associates International Research Center ("IRC") is set up. The IRC focuses on future issues in the areas of law, finance, taxation and globalisation, with special emphasis on identifying those issues related to and of interest to the international business community.

The IRC also has a strong focus on continuing education. Due to our extensive networking with legal, accounting and strategic consulting firms worldwide, the IRC invites internationally renowned professionals to share their expertise. While these programs are primarily directed towards in-house training, the IRC also occassionally encourages select clients to benefit from such training sessions.
